| Mai 2007 Ich habe den Felsensockel jetzt etwas geändert. Dazu habe ich die obere Hälfte des Originalfelsen mit Latex abgeformt, in Stewalin nachgegossen und mit Molto Holzspachtel auf eine neuen ovalen Holzsockel aufmodelliert. Auch hat das Reittier hat die ersten Farbschichten bekommen. |

| April 2007 Hier sind ein paar Bilder von meinem neuesten Projekt in der Entstehung. Das "Ultimate ATV" ist nach einem originalen Gemälde des Fantasykünstlers Keith Parkinson (1958-2005) entstanden. Zunächsteinmal hab ich mir überlegt, wie ich das Modell mit einem schön gestalteten Sockel ergänzen könnte. Zu diesem Zweck habe ich mir das Original Gemälde als Vorlage und Inspiration genommen. Als erstes habe ich in einen ovalen Bilderrahmen mit Giesharz eine Grundplatte gegossen. Auf diese Grundplatte habe ich dann mit Styrodur und Molto Holzspachtel eine Felsspitze modelliert, auf die das Modell genau drauf passt. Das Styrodur habe ich mit Hilfe eines Styroporschneiders in die gewünscht Grundform gebracht. Dann habe ich das Styrodur mit dünnflüssigem Plastikkleber bestrichen, welcher sich ein wenig in das Material gefressen und damit die Oberfläche aufgeraut hat. Darauf hat dann die folgende Schicht aus Moltospachtel gut gehalten. Beide Teile werde ich jetzt getrennt voneinander bemalen und anschliessend die Miniatur auf den Felsen kleben. Vorher werde ich den Felsen aber noch genau an die Base der Miniatur anpassen, damit ich anschliessend nicht mehr viel dran machen muss. |
April 2007 Here are some images of my latest project in progress. The "Ultimate ATV" was sculpted and produced after an original Artwork from Keith Parkinson (1958-2005) by Ral Partha. First I had to think of an idea, how I could enhance the model with an especially made rock base. So I took the original Artwork as an Inspiration. For a start I made a nice base out of an oval wooden picture frame and some resin, which I poured into it. Onto this base I sculpted a small rock with some Styrodur and Molto woodputty, onto which the model would fit. I cut out a basic rock shape with an electric styrofoamcutter. After that, I brushed on some thin plastic glue onto the styrodur. The glue was eating into the surface a bit, making it rougher and more sticky for the following layers of Molto putty. With the Molto I then sculpted a rock struktur onto the styrodur. I will now paint both parts seperately, and then glue the miniature onto the rock tip. But before that I will make sure both parts fit together tightly, so I won't have to do much more with them, after they are painted. |
