Ich lebe und Arbeite in Deutschland.
Wie ihr vermutlich schon bemerkt habt, befasse ich mich in meiner Freizeit mit dem Bau und der Bemalung von allerlei Miniaturen und Modellbausätzen aus den Bereichen Fantasy und Science Fiction.

Hallo, dear visitor of my website, I am Dirk Stiller.

I live and work in Germany.
You may have allready noticed that I build and paint all kind of fantasy & scifi miniatures and modelkits in my free time.

Angefangen hat diese Leidenschaft schon als ich 6 Jahre alt war. In diesem zarten Alter habe ich meine ersten Plastikmodelle gebaut. Zwar noch ohne Farben zu verwenden und die Modelle waren auch eher zum Spielen, denn zum Hinstellen und Ansehen gedacht. Aber schon damals hatten die eher fantastischen Themen eine magische Anziehungskraft auf mich.
Und so waren meine ersten Modellbausätze neben Flugzeugen und Panzern in erster Linie Mondlandefähren, Spaceshuttle, gigantische Kampfroboter, Dinosaurier und Rieseninsekten-monster!

Mit den Jahren fokussierte sich mein Interesse dann auch immer mehr auf Dinge, die mit Science Fiction und Fantasy zu tun hatten.
Warum es mir grade diese Themen so angetan haben weiss ich nicht so genau. Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ich im Jahr geboren wurde als der erste Mensch den Mond betrat.
Auch wenn ich davon natürlich leider noch Nichts mitbekam.

This passion allready began when I was only 6 years old. At this tender age I built my first styrene modelkits. Though still without the use of any paint and only to be wasted as playtoys, rather then being artistic renditions destined to become display pieces in a showcase, I allready inhered a magical attraction to the more fantastical subjects.
And so, amongst my first modelkits, besides Planes and Tanks, there where mainly Lunar Landers, Spaceshuttles, gigantic Robots, Dinosaurs and colossal Monsterinsects!

Through the years my interests focused more and more on things that dealt with Scifi and Fantasy.
I don't know why I was especially attracted by this subjects. Maybe because I was born in the year when the first man set his foot onto the moon.
Sadly though I didn't even really noticed what was going on back then.

Als so klassische Fernsehserien wie Raumschiff Enterprise, Mondbasis Alpha 1 und Kampfstern Galactica im Fernsehen gezeigt wurden, war ich vom Fernseher nicht weg zu bekommen. Und im Kino liefen grade Meilensteine der Filmgeschichte wie Krieg der Sterne, Disney's Drachentöter und Indiana Jones. Diese Filme und Serien haben natürlich einen bleibenden Eindruck bei mir hinterlassen. Und als ich dann die Welt der Fantasyrollenspiele entdeckte, nahm ich mich sofort der kleinen aber feinen Spielminiaturen an, die über die letzten Jahre in ihrer Qualität immer besser geworden sind.

Durch diese Miniaturen entdeckte ich dann auch bald die Welt ihrer großen Geschwister, der Garagekits. Diese oft seltenen und teuren Modelle liessen sich Anfangs in Deutschland nur schwer bekommen, inzwischen aber hat sich auch Hierzulande eine kleine aber feine Fangemeinde entwickelt. Diese fantastischen Modelle stellen in facettenreicher Weise all jene Charaktere und Kreaturen dar, die mich mein ganzes Leben lang schon so faszinieren.

Ich verbringe meine Zeit aber nicht nur mit Modellbau, sondern sammle und höre Filmmusik, lese und gehe gerne ins Kino. Und seit 2001 betreibe ich so ganz nebenbei auch noch meine eigene Internetseite. Achja, und ab und zu spiele ich auch noch Computerspiele, Pen&Paper Fantasyrollenspiele und treibe mich von Zeit zu Zeit auch mal auf nem Liverollenspiel rum.

When classical TV shows like Star Trek, Space 1999 and Battlestar Galactica where shown on TV I couldn't be draged away from it. And in the movie theaters they where showing cinematic milestones like Star Wars, Disney's Dragonslayer and Indiana Jones. These motion pictures and TV shows have of course made their impact on me. And when I discovered the world of roleplayinggames, I immediately turned towards those small, but fine detailed gamingminiatures, which have become better and better over the years.

Iwas because of these miniatures that soon after I discovered the world of their larger cousins, the garagekits. These often rare and expensive modelkits where very hard to obtain in Germany at first, but over the past years a small but nice group of fans has developed. These fantastical models depict in a multi-faceted way all those characters and creatures, that have fascinated me my whole live.

But I not only spend my time with kitbuilding, I also read, like to collect and listen to motionpicturesoundtracks and attend the movie theaters every now and then. And since 2001 I also operate my personal website. Oh, and yes, I like to play computergames, pen&paper fantasy RPGs and attend live action role plays from time to time.
